Endorsement
Endorsement is the formal recognition and verification that a person is in “good standing” and has the necessary training, character and spiritual maturity to provide pastoral, religious and spiritual care in institutions like hospitals, hospices, or prisons.

Professional Accreditation
The Council of Professional Chaplains and Pastoral Carers (CPCPC) is the regulatory body for Healthcare Chaplains, formerly known as the UK Board of Healthcare Chaplaincy (UKBHC). A requirement of professional accreditation is endorsement by the individual’s faith community, such as the provided by BHSCN.
CPCPC are a regulatory body and produce professional standards that are widely recognised by health and care organisations, although membership is at present not mandatory.
